YES Malaysia's First 4G Mobile Network

Finally launched on 19th November 2010 after a long suspense wait to see what YTL Corporation had to offer. Booking the SIM-less technology YES ID started off months before at YES.MY As any other tech enthusiast, one would definitely want to know the rates and plans offered, even the public for that matter. But when I tried logging into YES.MY, my web browser, Mozilla Firefox seemed to be fetching error from the server. From what I heard, the web developers over at YES are still patching-up their site and upgrade process will take place once in awhile throughout few more weeks period. No exact date for a perfectly functioning site.

On the way home today, I dropped by at KL Sentral to visit YES booth which will be available till the 1st December 2010. The promoters over there really did clear my doubts I had on the new service. As much as I felt lost before this, and their brochures might not have reached cities near you, I have made available in online content. Check it out!

I personally found this new service quite interesting and reasonable. If you do your calculation right, at the minimum package of RM30/month - RM0.09(3MB, 1min, 1sms), you should be getting 333mins of talktime and 333 SMS to any network nationwide. And on top of that, you'll have a download quota of approximately 1,024 MB(1 GB). It's truly pay for what you use! At a very, very low rate.

The only thing that is holding me back from signing up for one, would definitely be the coverage factor. You can check it yourself if you fall within the service area at Coverage.Yes.My  If you're in Kuala Lumpur, then you should definitely go for one. As you don't have to worry about the coverage. When the promoter did a speed test in front of me on KL Sentral, download speed was recorded at astonishing 8Mbps. They claim to have 65% in Peninsular Malaysia. Just feels sad to know Nilai and Tampin, Negeri Sembilan falls in that 35% not achieved.

It's a good product in rival of TM Streamyx, Maxis, Digi, Celcom, U Mobile and P1 Wimax. And their early promotion has the best attention compared to the other six. We'll see which one beats out the battle in months to come.
